What sets Hella Retreats apart from the rest?

Venue

 

Although it’s not always possible, we recommend our retreats be in-person and close to nature. We want participants to feel grounded and safe in a neutral, accessible, and beautiful place, and that can’t always happen in a company conference room or coworking space. The work we will be doing together is sometimes challenging, and having access to places to walk, stretch, or sit quietly away from others during breaks is integral to our retreat experience.

 

Activities

 

As emergent facilitators whose purpose is to help you maximize your impact, we find ways to bring happiness, laughter, and joy into our work. We create holistic experiences that, in addition to our rich content, bring in poetry, movement, music, and mindfulness. We customize our agenda to your goals, and build meaning into everything we do. We are constantly collaborating. We work hard to bring all voices into the room. 

We are not sitting in a dark room looking at PowerPoint slides. We promise.

 

Service Providers

 

When required, we draw upon our network of consultants to support our Hella Retreat experience. We may include various creative coaches, mindfulness/yoga teachers, musicians, and/or playback theater actors to build inclusion, deepen relationships, and strengthen connections to inclusive and equitable principles.

Transformative experiences like our Hella Retreat don’t just happen on their own. It takes sharp attention to detail, the skills to manage many moving parts, and the ability to think and behave “emergently” when last minute changes come up to create the most immersive and meaningful gathering possible for your organization.

  • Select the Hella Retreat format and corresponding date(s)

  • Research and book the venue (preferably BIPOC-owned)

  • Research and provide BIPOC-owned vendors for food and beverage

  • Create the content and format for our time together

  • Set expectations for all participants in advance

  • Tightly manage the agenda

  • Expertly facilitate the retreat, noticing when additional topics need to be addressed or breaks are needed

  • Take notes especially for accountability and/or action items

  • Provide post-retreat reporting and follow up
